(It really depended on what the unfortunate thing was and what else was happening around Percy at he time. The kid could have a short temper and was prone to getting upset easily and letting his emotions get the better of him. He thought too much with his heart and gut instincts and not nearly enough with his head. Some things he couldn't let go of. Some hurts too deep but he tried. At least he didn't cling to them in a way that impacted his overall quality of life. He wanted to have a good life, to be happy. He tried really hard.

Percy doesn't feel all that bad about the girl thing. Frankly, even before coming to Amoi, he was awful with girls. They either didn't like him or they made fun of him or one thing of many. That or he was always perpetually oblivious to them liking him. It just was not his strong suit by any means. He had no problem making girl friends but that was the extent of it. It helped though that he sort of had a thing for a guy here anyway. It distracted him from a lot of other problems he could be worrying about. Even if it refocused him onto a whole new crop of problems.

Percy is gnawing on one of his drawstrings by the time he's finished talking, worrying away at the cotton-like material Amoi used for clothes. His eyes flick up to Gyro and he grimaces a teensy bit when Gyro admits that he didn't usually mess with guys and Percy had the humility to blush a little. He should have realized that. Maybe Gyro had told him and he'd forgotten but really, Gyro didn't seem the sort of guy to really get off with guys either.

The smile does calm Percy down a little and it's only then that he realizes he had been tapping his foot consistently against the ground. He drops the damp drawstring from his mouth and flicks his hands about, cracking a few fingers before setting his hands on his own hips, clearing his throat.)

I- well, thanks, I think. I would really appreciate it. I'd like to uh- um. You know. Do more but I just feel kind of stupid with it. Everyone else is so experienced and I feel like an idiot cause I'm not and I don't really want to...mess around with people I don't know.

(But he knew Gyro. That goes without saying. Poor kid has no idea how he's making this all sound. He was mostly looking for vocal help. But you know. Miscommunication isn't always a bad thing.

He takes a few steps towards Gyro and shrugs, smiling at the guy.)

So um. Where do we begin?
